I have had this book on my shelf for several months and found it extremely valuable in doing some quick general research and in exploring a variety of concepts dealing with planned giving. Written for the small shop (in my opinion) that needs to develop a planned giving program, this is a well-written and easily read book covering A to Z.
Topics start with what is planned giving, move through defining and discussing philanthropy, setting up a planned giving program (first steps), pitfalls to avoid, marketing planned giving and even sample gift instruments. These are but a few of the chapters in what I think is an excellent starting point for someone new to planned gifts and how to promote them (or even a pro looking for some fresh ideas).
Ah yes, my wife. For her, this was a bit of a liberating experience - she now has a good grasp of what I do. She can converse with friends about the business of planned giving very comfortably with a much better understanding of the basics.』

(Great Read, Great Reference Guide) 『For the money, this book really covers a lot of ground. I am a working DJ, and I use the information I found in this book every time I am behind a mic. No matter if it's to mention what city the band was formed in, to who the lead singer is this week, er month. It's handy, useful and very well written. Even if you are just a fan of Rock&Roll, you should own this book, you could almost consider this a history book of modern music. I found very few bands that are not included, (i.e. larger regional acts, etc.) Over all you can't go wrong.. buy this book now!!』
(Crappy as the new editions roll out) 『I had to do a report for my music appreciation class and chose my most fav band in the world, White Lion. Luckily, the college library had the first edition because White Lion was deleted in the second edition (or revised edition). As a big music nerd (and liking to read rock bios), I rather have each edition they update to keep the old band's listing as musical reference, but they don't. There are other rock and roll reference books (some may be out of print already, especially if you're looking for a band that's obscure), and I got more info from other books than Rolling Stone.』
(Amazing book) 『I cant believe people didnt like this book, then again everyone has an opinion. I thought this book was very well done and well written. Im a bit confused about the book though. It does say Rock n Roll but clearly has country acts, a few metal bands, and alot of bands who shouldnt even be in the book. As a lover of all music, I didn't mind the entrees though. I was on a 3 hour trip home and I read the book all the way home. It does pass alot of time and covers alot of ground. Its a great read for music lovers and i'm really glad I bought this book. I cant wait for the Fourth edition to come out, this book ends at 2000.

Little research has been done about the topics addressed by a several contributors to the book. Each contributor, an expert on his or her topic of choice, took a massive amount of information and boiled it down to easy to understand statistics. They also included helpful charts.
Two stand-out chapters are Elders as Perpetrators by Edith Elisabeth Flynn and The Older Prisoner: Social, Psychological, and Medical Considerations by John J. Kerbs. Flynn said elder crime has become a major concern for policy-makers. Although violent crime by older people is on the rise, Flynn cautioned that overall arrests for that age group are down. Most elders are law-abiding, she said. As such, elders are best viewed as a stabilizing force in society and not as an emerging, new problem on the horizon of criminal justice. She adds, Though numerically small, some elders do engage in crime and violence and are quite capable of inflicting serious losses and harm. Kerbs says most of the country's older prisoners are not getting proper medical, psychological and social care. He says the older prisoner's physical, psychological and social needs are complex, and require health workers who understand those needs. It's quite possibly the best book on librarianship that I've ever read. It is so interesting to read about how people deal with their lives as librarians. It's also great on practical tips. Having worked in academic libraries for over 40 years I think I know libraries and it's clear that the writers and editor really know what they're talking about. I had read some of the articles written by the editor, Karl Bridges, in American Libraries and elsewhere, but didn't realize what a great writer he was until I read this book. This book is something that every working librarian should read. In fact, I have a niece who is thinking about becoming a librarian and I plan to buy her a copy. I just wish I had had something like this when I started working as a librarian.』

Further, only the infinitive and some gerundic forms of french verbs are listed; when I try to find, for example, a third person singular form, I come up empty, even though the infinitive is listed.
