(This book helped with my success!!!)
『This book was a key piece of my success on the master cleanse. It really helped me to stay with the program, and REALLY understand all of the pieces of the cleanse. I have recommended this book to many people, and recommend it to you if you are thinking about doing the master cleanse!』

(Life changing!!)
『This is not a diet book - it is a life changing book! The perks are of course losing weight and eliminating waste, but it is so much more than that. It digs deeper into our mind and body. I purchased this book about 2 months ago and completed the 10-day Master Cleanse after reading it. You start to see the your true relationship with food and what you've been feeding yourself in the years prior. What an epiphany!! I have been vegetarian for 10 years, with the exception of fish and milk, so I thought I was already fairly health, especially considering my frequent exercise&activity level. However, today I'd say I am on my true road to optimum health. The Master Cleanse positions you on a clean slate. Today, I've adopted a more raw foods diet and feel better than ever. I am learning to experiment with all sorts of fruits and vegetables and see that proper nutrition is the real doctor! I no longer crave or feel like I need dairy or wheat products. In fact, I feel better without them. I have more energy and feel light as a feather when I dance or do aerobics. My skin has cleared up. I have regular bowel movements. My frequent and stubborn bloatedness is gone! Overall, I have a more positive outlook on life. Might sound crazy, considering it's a mere "lemonade diet", but it's true. Something happens in the 10+ days of doing this. You just have to read Stanley Burrough or Peter Glickman's word to understand. It's a deeper meaning to true health and I can't imagine what my life was like before this. Thank you Peter!!!!』

(A MUST READ)
『Peter Glickman's book is definately a must read if you plan on doing the Master Cleanse. It pretty much answers all the questions you may have. I am starting my MC on July 23th and am completely prepared. I have read every book that I could find on the subject and Peter Glickman's is very informative,

Thanks Peter!』

(Lose Weight, Have More Energy&Be Happier in 10 Days)
『I have done the fast 4 times to date. I bought the book the first time I did the fast. Without the book, I do not think I would have made it thru the fast. All the "detox" symptoms I was having would have stopped me from completing the first fast if I had not been able to read the book while taking an epsom salt bath to keep myself motivated.... It really helped. I felt awful during my first fast and wouldn't have made it thru to the good feelings and healthy body if I didn't have the knowledge the book gave me. The book can be redundant at points, but it is nessasary because it keeps repeating all of the good things that will come if you follow the instructions. They really do happen. I do the fast four times a year Spring, Summer, Fall&Winter. I am 41 and have never felt better. Without the assisance from the book, I don't think I would have made changing my lifestyle this far. I first started at 39. I wanted to loose the weight I had gained over the years of my SAD. I was 150 lbs. during my first fast I lost 25 lbs. It has been two years and 3 more fasts and a better diet (most of the time)&I weigh today 121. Wow. My husband didn't think I would ever loose the weight&now he (and myself) get a happier person. I really reccomend this book to a person who is sick of dieting (cause it doesn't work) and is ready to begin the process of changing to a better lifestyle. It worked wonders for me.』

(THIS IS THE BOOK YOU WANT!!!)
『I read all the books, but this one is great in keeping you out of the gray. You'll find all your questions, and even ones you didn't have, answered. I swear by the cleanse and everything it's done for me. My first cleanse was 17 days and my second was 11. The book tells you everything to expect and explains the why's to everything. I can't begin to tell you how great I felt through most of the cleanse and after. I firmly believe that cleaning yourself out like this is really good for you and it really is not that hard to follow.』
『This is the first book devoted exclusively to the Master Cleanse since Stanley Burroughs wrote the original book in 1976. Written in a clear, simple style, it is based on the author's coaching hundreds of people, both live and on one of the largest Internet bulletin boards. It covers the widespread nature of obesity, the body's method of handling toxins by storing them in fat cells, how to do the cleanse, what detox symptoms are, what to do about them and what pitfalls to avoid. This book also contains personal experiences from scores of people as they did the cleanse day by, what to expect, which days are the worst, how the cleanse affects women, what ingredients to buy and answers the 70 most frequently asked questions. The author, Peter Glickman, has been a chiropractic clinic director, chelation clinic director (alternative medical procedure for plugged arteries), contributing editor to an online alternative health newsletter and president of two computer software companies.

Publisher of best selling diet books prefers Glickman's LOSE WEIGHT...to Craig Claiborne's

By Thomas Lipscomb

March 23, 2008

As the publisher of the number one bestselling CRAIG CLAIBORNE GOURMET DIET, I have tried both Glickman's and Claiborne's regimes, and Glickman's works far better.

I lost 20 lbs in 10 days, and made a major alteration to my permanent diet that keeps the weight off. The diet is simple, sound, easy to master and execute and it works.

Most diets are about as complicated as IRS instructions for your tax return and one can quickly find an excuse for giving up.

Following up the diet with a sigmoidoscopy to take advantage of the newly cleared intestinal tract should be the ultimate way to detect and prevent colon and intestinal cancers.

Any book this short that is this clear and this good should be in everyone's library.』

(This One is a Keeper!)
『I got this book from the library and I'm here to buy it for my collection. I don't buy alot of books so the ones that I do buy are keepers. You'll get alot of tips to make your life easier or better or more fulfilling. Frugal living is not a bad thing especially with our economy the way it is. You won't have to haggle the price of day old bread or grab free meals at the homeless shelter in order to get a little more for your money. This book isn't about being cheap or destitute... it's a book about getting more for your money without degrading yourself. You can cut your expenses but you'll learn that you can't have it all. Cut $2 here and $12 there and you've got more money available to reach your financial goals. Don't wait for your ship to come in ... Swim out to meet it!

(a timely subject)
『with all that has happened with our economoy and many companies that once seem indistructable now filing for chapter 11, there is no better time than now for a book like this. i happened upon this book while reading a blog on bargain hunting. the portion of the book that was being reviewed was with regards to hiding money in your house. this didn't really apply to me, but the rest of the book was fascinating. i am slowing finding ways to reduce what i spend and starting to save more for the future. who wouldn't want to do more of that given the state of the world economy.』

(Practical and Fun)
『I was flipping through this book at Barnes yesterday while waiting for my girlfriend to finish buying a gift for her friend's birthday. The book is basically a bunch of individual lists and howtos -- how to buy wine, 23 common interview questions, etc. By the time my girlfriend was ready to go, I was still reading the article on how to shop for wine, so I brought the book home. Couldn't put it down the rest of the night! I read through the entire budget travel section since we're planning for a trip this summer. And the article on how to open a roth IRA is going to come in handy. I've been thinking about opening one for the last few months and I think I'm going to do it next week. This book is full of tips for a wide range of financial topics. I highly recommended for anyone looking to get more out of their money.』

(Helpful and creative)
『I am pleasantly surprised at the number of truly helpful and creative tips on saving money. They deliver on their promise that they won't tell us to scrimp and save by simply not spending money. This isn't like the other self-help money management/personal finance books where they try to psychoanalyze you. Sometimes I just want to have some fun, and that involves spending money. This book helps you find ways to have fun, but save money at the same time. It's more of a spend smartly rather than spend less philosophy, which is what I live by. I give it one less star because I don't think the writing is very polished.』

(Sage advice without the marketing)
『My family is feeling the pinch like everyone else. I've been reading almost a book a week on personal finance and frugality topics. This book and "Your Money or Your Life" by Joe Dominguez are my two favorites. These are straightforward books without the normal glitz and BS. Many other books in this genre are basically giant advertisements for the author's "workshops" or radio shows. Those books are filled with titillating promises that can only be fulfilled if you buy some other book or CD course by the same author.

This Wise Bread book is filled with workable advice that can probably save you a few bucks and entertain you a bit along the way. Every tip is carefully explained so that you can take action right away. By the way, I read this book in Borders without actually buying it. Normally I wouldn't admit to this, but I have a feeling the frugal gurus at Wise Bread would approve.』

(Thanks for the Much Needed Help)
『I coach a high school softball team. Needless to say highschool girls are not always the easiest to work with; they get distracted quite easily and emotions and self-image fluctuate often. After a disappointing season last year, I decided something had to change. I came across Ten Minute Toughness and couldn't put it down. This was the edge my girls had been lacking. The first week of practice this past season we didn't touch a glove or bat. We learned Jason Selk's Mental Workout. Some of the girls enjoyed it more than others, but overall everyone made adjustments and improved. Practices were more efficient and girls more focused and confident. Than you Jason for less stressful, more enjoyable, and more successful seasons to come!』

(Great Book!)
『As a graduate student in the field of Sport Psychology, I come across a lot of books that talk about concepts and give examples of techniques. However, 10 MT is the first one that has been able to lay out a specific plan to be used daily to make athletes stronger in their mental game. As an added bonus, after reading 10 MT, I was able to apply the phases of Jason's plan to my own life as a student, coach, and employee.』

(Really helped with my long distance)
『A friend recommended 10 Minute Toughness to help give me a mental edge while running. I had always wanted to run in marathons, but my breathing hindered me from running long distances. The centering breath and mental workout have really helped me mentally and physically. The plan is easy to follow, and it has now become second nature to me. I can run twice as far as I could a year ago. I am not a coach, but I highy suggest this book for coaches of all ages.』

(review)
『I like this book very much. it provides me motivation on how athletes stay focused seeking their goals. I will reference this book quite often in the future. Thanks!』

(Great for Weight Loss)
『I have applied these principles of the mental toughness to loose weight and work out at my peak performance. The biggest problem for me has been weight loss, but this mental work-out is empowering and life changing. It will work in many aspects of life to lead to higher success and a happier outlook to problems. I highly reccomend to those that struggle with a weight problem.』

10-Minute Toughnessis a solid mental training program. In fact I feel it is the best of its kind. . . . [It's] what the title says: ten minutes a day that connects your talents and abilities to the outcome you're seeking. As a retired NFL player looking forward, I can see as many applications for the toughness Jason Selk's program brought out of me in the business world as there were on the football field.”
--Jeff Wilkins, Former NFL Pro Bowl Kicker

“The mental side of the game is extremely important.10-Minute Toughnesshelps the players develop the mental toughness needed for success; it really makes a difference.”
--Walt Jocketty, General Manager of the 2006 World Champion St. Louis Cardinals

“Jason Selk has spent a tremendous amount of time and energy developing effective mental-training programs and coaches workshops. He is truly committed to helping individuals and teams to perform at their very best, when it really counts.”
--Peter Vidmar, Olympic Gold Medalist

Mental training is a must for high performance both on the field and off. But simply hoping for mental toughness isn't going to build any mind muscles. You need a proven routine of daily exercises to get you where you want to go.10-Minute Toughnessis your personal coach for boosting brainpower and achieving a competitive edge in whatever game you play. With quickness and ease, you'll learn how to master your own mind and psych out your opponents using personalized techniques from one of America's most successful sport psychology consultants. Like no other program available, the 10-Minute Toughness (10-MT) routine gets you ready for the competition in just ten minutes a day.

(The insights were great!)
『As a dad who gets agitated with my daughter, it was great to see someone agreeing with my wife that, "that is how girls are" and that I needed to change my behaviors! I appreciate the honesty this author has.

I learned a lot about myself and my daughter.

As a side note, there are anecdotes, but not so many that it gets annoying.

I hate cliches, but every dad with a daughter should really check this book out!』

(Every father&mother should read this book.)
『This is a great book especially for dads. Great insight into what our daughters need from their fathers. A must read!』

(A must read for all fathers!)
『I wish my father had a book like this to read when my sister and I were growing up. Most fathers never know how BIG of a role they play in a daughters life. This book gives alot of insight into what makes strong girls and then women of the future.』

(What a load of crap! NOT the book for raising strong daughters!)
『This book purports to suggest the way to raise strong daughters but does so much harm! As an educator for the last two decades who has worked with a slew of young women in difficult years, I know that a strong father in the life of a child is important. In fact, I think the courts are doing everything they can to destroy the father-child bonds in cases of divorce. However, raising young women to have health, informed ideas about sex and open-minded understandings of religion are critical in the development of strong women (and men) and the recommendations of Strong Fathers; Strong Daughters makes recommendations that will leave young women prey to not developing healthy, independent thoughts about religion, sex, and life. They will not understand the importance of women being able to stand on their own emotionally and financially before they consider entering into a long-lasting relationship. Instead, they will assume that some big strong boy will rescue them from a life of toil (after all, independence is a feminist idea and the book is strongly anti-feminist). Of course, the reality, and I see it every day, will be a young unwed mother with bills to pay and no education to help her find a profession that would pay them. Instead, she will go to church and pray for money that will never arrive. How sad. Amazon needs to post a WARNING, right-wing Christian literature so that those of us who do not so subscribe are warned adequately, BEFORE placing an order (as happened to me).』

(Such an important topic, disappointing book...)
『Some good advice, but as a father of two daughters I couldn't relate to a much of what Meg was saying. Too religious and too conservative for my taste. I couldn't help but feel the author was projecting her own sexually repressed childhood on the world of fathers and daughters. Statistics mixed with half truths and her own conservative opinion mixed together to the point she lost my interest chapter after chapter.

Chapter 1 - You are the most important man in her life. True
Chapter 2 - She needs a hero. True. Mom's and dad's can do this.
Chapter 3 - You are her first love. True. A lot of responsibility there.
Chapter 4 - Teach her humility. Good advice. Mom's and dad's can do this.
Chapter 5 - Protect her, defend her. You bet, where is my shotgun?
Chapter 6 - Pragmatism and grit two of your greatest assets. OK
Chapter 7 - Be the man you want her to marry. OK, but could get pretty twisted thinking too much like that.
Chapter 8 - Teach her who God is. Like I said, religious and conservative book.
Chapter 9 - Teach her how to fight. Mom's and dad's can do this.
Chapter 10 - Keep her connected. Sure.

Over all some good and obvious stuff if you can filter out the sexually repressed and very conservative assumptions.』

『In today’s increasingly complicated world, it’s often difficult for parents to connect with their daughters–and especially so for fathers. In this unique and invaluable guide, Dr. Meg Meeker, a pediatrician with more than twenty years’ experience counseling girls, reveals that a young woman’s relationship with her father is far more important than we’ve ever realized. To become a strong, confident woman, a daughter needs her father’s attention, protection, courage, and wisdom. Dr. Meeker shares the ten secrets every father needs to know in order to strengthen or rebuild bonds with his daughter and shape her life–and his own–for the better. Inside you’ll discover:

• the essential virtues of strong fathers–and how to develop them
• the cues daughters take from their dads on everything from self-respect to drugs, alcohol, and sex
• the truth about ground rules (girls do want them, despite their protests)
• the importance of becoming a hero to your daughter
• the biggest mistake a dad can make–and the ramifications
• the fact that girls actually depend on their dads’ guidance into adulthood
• steps fathers can follow to help daughters avoid disastrous decisions and mistakes
• ways in whicha father’s faith–or lack thereof–will influence his daughter
• essential communication strategies for different stages of a girl’s life
• true stories of “prodigal daughters”–and how their fathers helped to bring them back

Dads, you are far more powerful than you think–and if you follow Dr. Meeker’s advice, the rewards will be unmatched.

“Reassuring and challenging . . . a helpful road map for concerned fathers [that] tackles difficult issues.”
–National Review

“A touching, illuminating book that will prove valuable to all of us who are fortunate enough to have been blessed with daughters.”
–Michael Medved, nationally syndicated radio talk-show host, author ofRight Turns

“Dr. Meeker’s conclusions are timely, relevant, and often deeply moving. No one interested in what girls experience growing up in our culture today–and the impact that parents, especially fathers, have on the experience–can afford to miss reading this book.”
–Armand M. Nicholi, Jr., M.D., professor of psychiatry, Harvard Medical School』

(Life saver!)
『I bought this book along with the book "Your Defiant Teen: 10 Steps to Resolve Conflict and Rebuild Your Relationship by PhD Russell A. Barkley PhD ABPP ABCN. Its an even easier read and so informational. I'm using them both consecutively. I recommend them together.』

(WOW)
『I'm a mom of a very well behaved child and I also work in childcare. I bought this book with the intent of helping me learn techniques in dealing with my more difficult children. I was completely blown away by this book. Not only does it apply to defiant children but just children in general. I've even applied some techniques to some of the power struggles in my marriage. No matter how I've used the techniques I've learned they work. This book is simple to read (technical jargon is just not me), light hearted and so useful. It's amazing how simple it is for us to not see the simplicity in dealing with our children. This book has a lot of useful tools. The only key to it is it won't help unless you're ready and willing to apply the knowledge within these pages. Kudos to anyone buying this and be ready for some long lasting, positive changes in your relationships with your children and your life.』

(i don't yell anymore)
『this book is easy to read and understand. it explains why my child is so defiant, she can't control it. i've stopped yelling and my daugher is much happier. very easy to implement. no charts. our family is a much happier place to be.』

(Not for toddlers...Ages 4 thru teen years)
『I only read the intro to this book and that is where I found out this is for ages 4 and up. I was really looking for something for my newly turned 2-year old daughter who thinks she owns the world! Although after perusing through the chapters, this books appears to be well laid out and very user friendly as far as finding info on specific items/behaviors. I will definately hold onto this book because I imagine my daughter will have some newfound hostility in 2 more years. I rated 4 stars because I didn't know it was for children and not for toddlers. From what I briefed, though, this book seems like it will be very helpful for parents of defient school aged children.』

(Will this really work?)
『I am one of those parents who have read numerous books b/c of our son who displays many of the behaviors the book describes. Well, I am also one of those parents who fear that my kid is just "different" than all those other kids that other things end up working for and that we'll never find the right solution. I don't believe that there is just one solution b/c each kid and family is different, but I was determined to not have this be just another book I read quickly and tried to sort of apply, only to give up on it and return to our ineffective efforts. So, I resisted the urge to read through it all quickly and have instead more slowly read through it truly allowing myself time to apply each step. We are on Day 4, Avoiding Power Struggles step, and just read through much of that chapter last night and my husband and I decided to do our best to try it, even though it goes against the teaching we've had drilled into us to "win at all costs", etc. Well, I have to say, this morning I tried it and I really could not believe the result. I avoided the power struggle that presented itself, which after reading the chapter, realized my husband and I get into A LOT w/ our son. He ended up doing what I wished and it was all w/o yelling, forcing, and "winning at all costs." A big part of it is just not getting into those situations in the first place and helps you realize if you're parenting like that or not. On Day 2, Understanding your defiant child, I didn't think it would make that big of difference that day, but really tried and gave him much more intentional listening, understanding and not as confrontative as I usually am and boy, but it did make a difference. If anything, this book will help you see where you might be playing into the struggles you are having w/ your child. This is not to say it's all the parent's fault, that there aren't other situations that really warrant something else. But this author w/ his tried and true experience is worth listening to. I'm hopeful again!』
『Occasional clashes between parents and children are not uncommon, but when defiant behavior— such as tantrums, resistance to chores, and negativity — becomes chronic, it can cause big problems within the family. In10 Days to a Less Defiant Child, child and family psychologist Dr. Jeff Bernstein has developed a ground-breaking 10-day program to help parents gain back control over their defiant child or teen. This powerful and exceptionally reader-friendly guide explains what causes defiance in kids, why it's so destructive to the family, and shows parents step-by-step how they can end the behavior.

Simple-to-follow and extremely effective,10 Days to a Less Defiant Childwill bring much-needed relief to the millions of frustrated parents out there living with defiant children.』

『A life changing book. Everyone should read and keep a copy of this book on your night stand....』

(10 secrets for success and inner peace)
『this is a great book to have around, has lots of information, i think a lot of people would enjoy this book if they read it.』

(Timeless Wisdom in a Clear, Simple Book)
『Many authors write on the principles of success but, after reading, we feel confused and overwhelmed, as if we crammed from a text book.

Dr. Dyer, on the other hand, writes in a simple, clear, and active style. You absorb the principles and the stories but, afterwords, you feel energized with a light heart.』

(Very Inspiring)
『10 Secrets for Success and Inner Peace by Wayne W. Dyer is a book written by a motivational speaker on using same basic principles that will change your life. There are ten secrets to success and inner peace. According to the author if you want a happy life you must have a mind that is open to everything and attached to nothing. The author wants you to treat yourself as if you already are the person you want to be and avoid all thoughts that weaken you. The author feels that people are living in a world of "spiritual deficiency."

After you read this book it may be a good time to consider reading my book entitled "The Enlightenment, What God Told Me After One Million Prayers, a Message for Everyone" (See Profile Above)

(This Book Gives Many Insights to a More Peaceful Life!)
『I saw this book on one of my friend's desks. I admire her peacefulness, so I decided to purchase a copy for myself. I am so glad that I did. One day, when I felt overcome with the hustle bustle of everyday life, and I sat down and read this book. Instantly I felt more calm and at peace with where I was going with my plans, and knew that my patience for my goals would bring me results more quickly. I plan to listen to my inner voice, as I move towards my goals, and now am very thankful that I picked up this book to calm my mind.

I learned that I need to spend time alone with my thoughts to recharge my batteries and be able to hear the inner voice that is urging me to create my dreams. This is why I hike, and go to yoga class; it sure has made a difference with my levels of concentration, as well as my ability to be open to when I am on or off my purpose. This book was an integral part for me to figure out how to calm down enough to be open to creating my dream future.

Andrea Samadi, author of The Secret for Teens Revealed: How Parents, Teachers, and Teenagers Can Inspire Leadership and Transform Lives』

『Bestselling author and lecturer Wayne W. Dyer has written a thought-provoking book for those of us who have chosen to consciously be on our life path. The ten "secrets" for success and inner peace presented here apply whether you’re just embarking on your path, are nearing the end of it, or are on the path in any way. Dr. Dyer urges you to read these ten secrets with an open heart. By doing so, you’ll learn to feel the peace of God that truly defines success.

Dr. Dyer shares his view that we’re living in an age of spiritual deficiency. We have more than enough information in our society—it’s spirituality that’s lacking.

First and foremost, spiritually advanced people must have a "burning desire" to become as spiritually fulfilled as possible—even if they’re seen as running against the pack, or, as his spiritual mentor, Henry David Thoreau said, "marching to the beat of their own drummer."

Dr. Dyer’s ten principles include:

•Being open to everything and attached to nothing.

•Understanding that there are no justified resentments in life.

•Embracing silence, since meditation is the only way to truly come to know your Source.

•Knowing that you can’t solve a problem with the same mind that created it.

•Treating yourself as if you already are what you’d like to become.』

(You're not alone!)
『I've read many, many books on ADHD and distractibility (Hallowell/Ratey, Murphy, etc.). While those books supplied much-needed background info -- and I urge you to read them as well -- this book gives you ACTUAL STEPS TO TAKE when -- or before -- you're at wit's end.

My creative, intelligent, distractible son has had a lot of the issues described in this book: social interaction, homework trouble, depression and confidence. Although this is a "10-day" program, I urge you to read the entire book first, just to get an overview. It's full of great insight and will help you understand why/how your child learns differently.

I"m a "Type A" mom -- a list-maker, neat freak, get-it-done-now person -- and it's literally taken years to understand my son. This book gave me concrete ways to help my child navigate a world that's not set up for his way of approaching things.

NOTE: Check out "Right Brained Children in a Left Brained World" as well, if your child is particularly creative and "visual" as well as being distractible.』

(Great Suggestions)
『This book is great for that parent who is at their wits end with their kids behavior issues... if you are tired of yelling, threatening, spanking etc.. and having it go NO WHERE!! Then read this book. Nothing works all of the time but this book gave me "his" view. How he is thinking/reasoning and suggestions on how to deal with it. I don't have to yell(unless it's to get everyone's attention) I make suggestions and try and get him to tell me what the problem is or how to fix it. It doesn't work all the time but it does help considerably!!!』

(Worked for my 6 year old boy!)
『I bought 10 days to a Less Distracted Child at the same time as 10 days to a Less Defiant Child. I decided to read less distracted first, because frankly, I was angry with my 6-year old son. He is in kindergarten, reading at a high second-grade level, can add and subtract, and was getting daily reports saying he was NOT completing his work at school. My very bright son was getting labeled a trouble-maker and a "slow" child. I took his actions as defiance, but after reading Dr. Bernstein's book, I realize he is just EXTREMELY distractable. And, I really recognized myself in his descriptions too. On both sides - the exhausted, over-reacting parent and the distracted little kid.

As a parent with ADHD, it is highly likely my son has it as well. This book helped me to slow down and recognize that my son is trying his best, but completely lacks the skills to know how to keep himself on track. And that is my job as his parent to teach him.

This book is very easy to read, the steps are easy to follow, (even for a very distractable mom like me), and they make an IMMEDIATE difference. My son started bringing home silver stars (the highest they give for behavior) the day after I started using the steps in the book. I highly recommend this book to any parent who is struggling with a child who is under-performing . Also, if you have a defiant child, maybe you should read this book first and see if they are really just distracted.』

(Another great book by Dr. Bernstein)
『Dr. Bernstein obviously gets it. He clearly understands these distractible kids and why they do what they do. He also understands their parents and the challenges that they face. More importantly, he understands what they can do about it! This book is packed with practical tips and strategies that parents can use to help their distractible kids do better in school and at home. Although obviously this applies mostly to ADHD kids, there are other reasons why a child could have trouble with inattention, and Dr. Bernstein's suggestions are applicable to them as well. He really tries to help parents understand why their kids do what they do, and also normalizes their own sometimes unproductive reactions. There are other books out there on this topic, but few of them are as thorough or helpful.』

(Need help, here is help)
『This book has helped me so much. It feels like the book it is actually talking to me. I really recommed it even if you don't have anyone with adhd or add. Really good. If you are a parent that snap quickly you need to read this book.』
A fresh, practical, and completely original take on handling inattentive/hyperactive children. Anecdotal examples throughout help parents understand their kids, improve focus and organization at school, and eliminate other distracted or inappropriate behaviors at home.

(Watered down?)
『I picked this book up along with several others just to explore the possibility of having Adult ADD. Of them all, this one was among the least helpful because it was a bit too simple. It leans toward the camp of "snap out of, it's just ADD!" I felt a bit offended by the tone. Fortunately, there are many other good texts out there to fill in the 'gap.' One of my favorites has become What Does Everybody Know That I Don't, or something along those lines. It takes a more realistic approach to real life inside the ADD mind. Still, 10 Simple Solutions is not horrible, there are a couple of nuggets to be gleaned if you're willing to do the mining.』

(Just what I had hoped!)
『I purchased this book for a book review I had to do in my graduate class. Not only did I end up loving the book but while reading it I called up many friends and family members to share information with them. I suspect I could have slight ADD after this book, but I did get through the whole thing in one sitting! It was a fun read, and it provides great examples and how to's! Even if you do not have ADD I highly recommend this book, it is very helpful for life with tips on organization, managing finances, etc. It is not dragged out with theories and lingo you can not understand, it is straightforward and speaks the truth! Two thumbs up for this book, a great read and a wonderful book to keep in your personal library, if not for you personally, it is extremely helpful to help you work with people who have ADD! :)

(10 Simple Solutions to ADD)
『I love this book.It arrived quickly, and in great condition. If I didn't have ADD, I would have already left a review. Sorry, working on that.』

(A Start)
『This book was a quick, simple read - just what the ADD need! It's not going to solve your ADD problem 100%, but it certainly provides a great start to improving your current situation.』

(Adult ADD)
『This is a book I wish I'd owned years and years ago. It would have changed my life back then. This book understands the goings-on in the mind of a person with ADD. It cuts to the chase giving advice that can be put into play on the spot. Great handbook.』
『People think of ADD as a kid’s problem. But kids grow up. Many adults also struggle with ADD. There are book resources on the market for these folks. But they are often too long. Or too complicated. Or too dry and clinical. Adults with ADD need straightforward tools for coping with real experiences. This book offers exactlywhat they need.

Each chapter takes up an issue pertinent to adults with ADD: "My mind wanders" "I'm always misplacing things." "I have trouble keeping friends." "I have a hard time getting started." In no more than five to seven pages, the book outlines strategies for each problem that are simple to put into practice. If you’re struggling with adult ADD, the information in this book offers you immediate and lasting rewards: better concentration, sharper memory, enhanced focus, and greater self-confidence.』

(Not worth the time)
『I picked this book from library after watching an interview with Suzy at Youtube. This book definitely does not have enough material for 222 pages. The main message can be covered in five pages, which in nutshell can be stated as, "don't be stupid, THINK before making decision". The book was filled with personal stories from various people, which I had to skip sometime as they tend to get boring. At times personal stories sounded more like advertisement from weight watcher, ex: she was 300 lb and after using our product she is now 120lb. This book is not a fun read either. You can't take this book with you in a beach and read it for pleasure. She had this idea for more than 10 years, she wrote about it in a magazine for years and still it took her more than 2 years to finish this book. For me, the learning message from this book is: writing book is extremely difficult job even if you know what you want to say and you have been writing for long time. Robust Nonlinear Fault Detection and Isolation of Robotic System: A novel nonlinear analytic redundancy method』

(Simple decision-making "idea" doesn't take a whole book to explain)
『Although Suzy Welch seems to have garnered a great deal of notoriety for her "life-transforming idea," it's really almost laughably simplistic. Perhaps the best ideas in life are hard to come by, but once achieved, they don't necessarily need an entire book to explain them. We're not talking about the theory of relativity here.

Ms. Welch's theory can be explained in two sentences: 1. Before you make a major decision (or really ANY decision) in your life, stop and ask yourself where you will be in ten minutes, then ten months, and then ten years if you decide the problem in a certain way. 2. Once you have considered the different options from this time perspective, make the decision which appeals most. That's it. That's the whole thing.

The rest of the book is filler about how successful Ms. Welch is in her own life, and anecdotes about how applying this idea has worked for other people.

It's not a bad idea, it's just not a big enough idea for a whole book. I would have been much more enthused about the idea if I read about it in a newspaper article or a magazine story. But a whole book is just boring overkill.

I do find it interesting that this author is past 50, and writes that her idea will fit any person, of any age, for any problem, and yet this book feels skews toward a relatively young demographic. Although she says she uses her system in her own life, one gets the feeling that it was most helpful to her years ago before she and her current husband were rich and going around telling everyone else what to do. Most of the anecdotes in the book have to do with life decisions which most people make in their 20s and 30s -- like planning a career or having a baby or getting married. Some of it could be transposed to a later time in one's life, but the anecdote used for the example in the book generally involves a young adult.

Finally, I must say that it bothered me that the author comes across as rather smug. She ends the book by writing about attending a large party where the guests were trying to name "happy people." After eliminating most people for the problems they were encountering in their lives, the author writes that she and her husband were declared the only "happy people" in the group. I don't think that their relative "happiness" has as much to do with Ms. Welch's "life transforming idea" as it does with the fact that she married a rich second husband and managed to get onto Oprah to make a killing off of preaching to everyone else. Ms. Welch's real message seems to be: "Follow me. My life is better than yours, and if you pay me money, I will tell you about my one fantastic idea (other than marrying my rich husband.)"

Not recommended.』

(Making decisions)
『Making decisions based on the 10-10-10 approach prevents impulsive decision making. I'll think more about how my decisions affect my life in the near as well as distant future. This book is well written.』

(Its sensible)
『She is sensible and got me thinking about my value system. I had hoped for a little more I guess. Alot of stories about other peoples success using the 10-10-10. I listen to a plethora of self help. I thought it was good information and she is an amzing women. I just sort of zoned out while listening and picked up pieces. The best part is that all your decisions can based on YOUR values and you can realize what doesnt matter ten years from now. That alone has a ton of value.』

(3 1/2 stars as book doesn't live up to media hype)
『Take any situation, decision, question, or critical issue and ask yourself how the outcome will change your life in: 10 Minutes, 10 Months or 10 Years. That is the main premise of this book. The idea is simple, the application should be easy, but following the plan requires faith. Welch walks you through numerous examples on how to apply this technique to your life, work issues, parenting, and much more. The case studies are the driving force of this book and most will inspire you.

I eagerly awaited the arrival of this book in my mailbox only to be disappointed. The technique has the potential to be revolutionary to the masses in search for insight in finding relief from stress. However, when reading the last page I still wanted more - more real world applications, more experimental based evidence, just more. The media hype this book has received overshadows the actual work. Don't get me wrong, this is truly a "life-transforming idea" that will create positive life outcomes for millions. But I honestly don't see me still using this technique 10 years from now.

Recounting poignant stories from her own life and the lives of many other dedicated 10-10-10 users, Suzy Welch reveals how exploring the impact of our decisions in multiple time frames invariably surfaces our unconscious agendas, fears, needs, and desires -- and ultimately helps us identify and live according to our deepest goals and values. 10-10-10's applicability is uniquely broad. Readers of O magazine discovered this pragmatic and innovative idea when Suzy Welch first introduced it in her column. Now, in this immensely useful and revelatory book, she fully explains the power of 10-10-10, a transformative idea that can replace chaos with consistency, guilt with joy, and confusion with clarity.

Suzy Welch on 10-10-10 Parenting

I'll never forget the first time my husband saw me use 10-10-10 withSuzy Welchmy four kids. It was back in 2001, and the six of us were standing around in the kitchen as I fixed dinner. Jack I and had just begun dating and, not surprisingly, the 11-and-under crowd was acting up. Finally, the shenanigans got so bad that Jack left the room, purportedly to check a baseball score.

And when he snuck back a few minutes later…tranquility had been restored.

"What the heck did you just do?" Jack whispered to me, incredulous.

"We just had a little conversation," I replied.

"You mean, you threatened them?" he suggested. I burst out laughing.

"Allow me to introduce 10-10-10, Jack," I said. "It’s how I raise my kids."

Today, 10-10-10 is how Jack and I--and thousands of other parents--bring understanding and joy into our families. It’s our philosophy and our practical guide. How? Well, 10-10-10 is a decision-making process. Applied regularly, it gives parents as a team a shared language to talk about choices and their consequences, in matters both major and mundane. It surfaces values and expectations. It diffuses crises; itteaches responsibility. Invariably, it increases trust. And best of all, it does so swiftly and with remarkable ease. Now, I realize parenting can’t ever be easy. But I assure you that 10-10-10 makes it easier. Indeed, you only have to see 10-10-10 in action once to discover, as Jack did back in the kitchen that day, that parenting can be transformed for the better, by how we decide to decide.

The Top Ten Facts of Life College Forgot to Teach You

1. Everything you think you know about your career will seem thoroughly amusing to you in a couple of years, if not sooner.

2. That's because, despite your best intentions at the moment and the desperate hopes of your parents, your career path will not be a straight line. Instead, it will zig and zag, over many years and rocky terrain, as you inch ever closer to the work you were--yes--born to do.

3. Such work will touch your soul, fill you with meaning, put you in daily contact with people who get all your jokes…and always feel just a little bit too hard.

4. You can find the work you were born to do more quickly and with much less angst if you know your authentic values from the get-go.

5. Discovering your authentic values is easy. All you have to do is ask yourself three questions that will make you squirm.

6. At the very same time that you are trying to make sense of your career, you will also be trying to figure out something even more important and more confusing. Love.

7. Despite your best intentions at the moment and the desperate hopes of your parents, your love life won't be a straight line either.

8. You can, however, find a happy ending more quickly and with much less angst if you understand the "The Theory of the Third Force" from the get-go.

9. Understanding "The Theory of the Third Force" is easy. All you have to do is come to grips with the fact that loving your partner isn’t enough. You have to love your relationship too.

10. Finally, as you make the crucial decisions that will help build your career and find love, remember this. School teaches you that life is about success. Life teaches you life is about happiness.
